In Chapter 73 of Kashi Khand, Karuneshwar has the fourth place under the pilgrimage of four-tash volume Lingas like Amriteshwar etc. of Kashi. The special importance of Karuneshwar has been explained in Chapter 94 of Kashi Khand. His darshan on Monday has special significance. This is the most compassionate God. By his grace, the problems of Kashi's residence go away. One who visits and worships Karuneshwar after bathing in Manikarnika is never far from Kashi. Karuneshwar is also seen in Panchkrosi Yatra and Vishweshwar Antargrihi Yatra in Kashi.
