Hayagreeva Keshav is one of the eighteen avatars of Lord Vishnu that are said to be present in Kashi, according to a Kashi Khand tale. The name of this manifestation of Lord Vishnu gives it away. Given that Haya is the Sanskrit word for horse and Greeva () is the Sanskrit word for neck, Lord Vishnu's upper body—his face and neck—resembles a horse. This manifestation of Lord Vishnu is known as the God of Wisdom and bestows intelligence upon his followers. When To Perform Puja All day long, devotees may offer prayers at the temple.
