Agastya pilgrimage destroys even the biggest sins. After taking bath in Agastya Kund, one should try to have darshan of Agastyeshwar Shiva Linga. Then after offering ancestors in Agastya Kund, one should bow down to Goddess Lopamudra along with Agastya. By doing this, he gets rid of all sins and all troubles and goes to Shivlok along with his ancestors. But with the passage of time, now the Agastyeshwar Linga has survived, but it has lost its importance by bridging the Agastya Kund. The land around the temple was in Agastya Kund only.
