The mention of this temple is found in Kashikhand and it is believed that Baba Vishwanath had appointed Kaal Bhairav as Kshetrapal of Kashi and he has the power to punish the residents here. A huge crowd throngs the temple on Sundays and Tuesdays and aarti is performed with the sound of drums, bells and damru. The temple is known for the importance of prasad and liquor, and people come here to get cured of evil spirits and are believed to be cured by Baba's blessings.
