In the historic Vishwanath temple, Maa Annapurna is referred to as Mahagauri in the Puranas. She is Maa Durga's eighth manifestation. It is thought that through worshipping the goddess Mahagauri, a devotee can atone for his sins and gain heavenly goals. According to the beliefs, worshipping Goddess Mahagauri can grant followers the opportunity to worship any God and Goddess in existence. Best day to worship: The eighth day of Sharadiya Navratri (September–October), when Nau Durga Yatra is taking place, is the best day to worship Goddess Mahagauri. From 5:00 am until 10:00 pm, this temple is open. Morning and nighttime Aartis are held. Every day after noon, Anandanam is conducted on the grounds of this temple, during which free food is distributed to worshippers.
