As per the guidance of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu came from Mandarachal mountain and his divine goal was to free Kashi from King Divodas. After fulfilling his purpose, Lord Vishnu was enjoying the supernatural shade of ""Panchada Tirtha"" (Panchganga Ghat) Padodak Tirtha, other shrines and Kashi. In the meantime, he met an emaciated ascetic doing penance near Panchnad Tirtha. The name of that ascetic was Agni Bindu. The Lord appeared in front of him in His divine form, the ascetic became blissful after seeing the Lord in front of him. Immediately he prostrated before the Lord and started singing the praises of the Lord in a rhythmic voice. The ascetic sages addressed the Lord by various names such as Mukunda, Madhusudan, Madhava, Narayana, Rambhadran, Chaturbhuj and Janardan etc. Further, the sage said that whoever offers a lot of Tulsi leaves and Tulsi garlands to Lord Vishnu will get a lot of blessings from the Lord. After praising God in every way, the sage stood up with folded hands in a very calm manner. Then God asked the sage to ask for a boon, on this the sage only told God that you please always sit around Panchnad Tirtha. With pleasure, God said Aastastu and told that Kashi is a holy place. Devotees can attain many achievements by staying here. Lord Nah also told that as long as Kashi exists, he will always reside here. It is not possible to destroy the city of Kashi, which is situated on the Trishul of Lord Shiva, even a one-time catastrophe cannot shake Kashi. The sage was overjoyed to hear this, he asked the Lord for another boon that the Lord should always be available in the name of the sage around Panchnad Tirtha. If one takes a regular bath in the Panchnad Tirtha, he will certainly attain salvation even if his body has died elsewhere. The sage also requested the Lord that if someone bathes in the Panchnad Tirtha and worships you, then by your blessings he will get wealth and prosperity. The Lord accepted all the above requests of the sage and told that he would always be available near Panchnad Tirtha. Panchnad pilgrimage has become very important due to the presence of God, if a devotee bathes in this pilgrimage and respects the learned people, then by the grace of God, he will get all the happiness and prosperity. This pilgrimage is sin-harini and is famous by the name of Bindu pilgrimage. Knowingly and unknowingly man commits many sins. If one bathes in Panchnad Tirtha and worships Bindumadhav during the entire month of Kartik, he will attain salvation. Kashi Khand - Chapter 60: There is a detailed mention of the importance of Panchnad pilgrimage in the month of Kartik. Lord Vishweshwar himself regularly comes to bathe in Panchnad Tirth in the month of Kartik. In this sequence, Lord Vishnu told that people will worship us in the name of Adimadhav in Satyug, Anand Madhav in Tretayug, Shri Madhav in Dwapar Yug and Bindumadhav in Kaliyug. Rishi Bindu became very pleased after worshiping the Lord directly and he again prostrated before the Lord. Kartik month Shukla Paksha Ekadashi (Prabodhani Ekadashi) is very important. There is a lot of crowd in the temple on this day, but there is special importance of darshan on this day.
