About
Many years ago all the sages and sages used to live on the summit of Sumeru mountain and they were always eager to know from Brahma who is the immortal and the Supreme Father. Lord Brahma declared himself the Supreme Father. Hearing this, Yajneshwar (the symbol of Narayan) started scolding Lord Brahma for his hasty, bold and presumptuous statement. Both asked the same question to all the four Vedas. Rigveda told that the Supreme Father is ""Rudra"" who controls all the living beings. Yajurveda told that the Supreme Father is ""Shiva"" only, no one else. We all worship him through various yagyas and divine rituals. Samveda told that the controller of the universe is the Supreme Father ""Trayambakam"" and none other. All the yogis worship him only. Finally, Atharvveda told that all human beings can see God only through the path of devotion and there is none other than the Supreme Father ""Shankar"" who destroys all the obstacles of humans. In short, all the four Vedas refer to Lord Shiva as the ""Supreme Father"". Lord Brahma and Yajnarayan, both started laughing out of disbelief. At that very moment Lord Shiva appeared there in the form of a divine light. Lord Brahma became very angry and started staring from his fifth head. Immediately at the same time Lord Shiva created a human being and told that its name is ""Kaalbhairav"" and that he would be the king of Kaal (death). After this God said that Kalbhairav will always stay in Kashi and will defeat the sins of his devotees. That's why devotees know him by the name of sin eater.During all this episode, Lord Brahma's fifth head was burning with the flame of anger and Kalabhairav broke that head with his hands as if someone is plucking a flower from the garden. Immediately the people present there started singing praises of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva ordered Kalabhairava to visit various places but the brahma hatya dosha (guilt of killing a Brahmin) would always follow behind him. Lord Shiva immediately created a terrifying female form and named her ""Brahma Hatya"". The Lord asked him to follow Kalbhairav wherever he went. Kalbhairav with Lord Brahma's head in his hands went out for a tour of the whole universe, during the tour he bathed in all the pilgrimages and worshiped various gods, but he never left his body after killing Brahma. At last, Kalbhairav reached Kashi, the city of salvation. As soon as she reached the entrance of Kashi, Brahma started screaming murder and finally she disappeared into the world below. Brahma's head (Kapal) fell at a place, later that place was named ""Kapal Mochan"". There was a Tirtha named Kapal Mochan Tirtha. After that Kalabhairav started living permanently in Kashi and providing shelter to his devotees. People who live in Kashi and come to visit Kashi must worship ""Kaalbhairav"" and Kalabhairav always protects his devotees. ""Marshish Shukla Paksha Ashtami"" is the most important day of worship of Baba Kalbhairav. Apart from this, there is a huge crowd in Baba's court on every Sunday, Tuesday, Ashtami and Chaturdashi. If someone does eight parikramas of Kalabhairav, then his sins will be absolved. By having darshan of Kalabhairav continuously for six months, one gets all success.
