The first form of Maa Durga is Shailputri who was married to Lord Shiva. She got this name because she was the daughter of Parvatraj Himalaya. In her previous birth, she was the daughter of King Daksha and her name was Sati. Goddess Sati was married to Lord Shiva. In her rebirth she became the daughter of the mountain king Himalaya and is known as Shailputri, Parvati and Hemavati. She is believed to remove all problems/obstacles faced by her devotees. Best time to worship :- This temple remains open from 5 am to 12 noon and from 3 pm to 10 pm. Aarti is performed in the morning and evening.
