About

Shivala of the five Pandavas located in Shivpur is the center of faith of the devotees. According to Kashi Khand, Pandavas had done Panchkroshi Parikrama in Kashi during Agyatvas. During this, he installed five Shivlings in Shivpur and worshiped them and rested for the night here. It is believed that it was founded by Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nukal and Sahdev himself. People come from far and wide to offer prayers in this temple. The priest of the temple says that this temple was established by the Pandavas when they came to Kashi to visit Panchkroshi during Agyatvas. Draupadi Kund is also at a little distance from the temple. It was created by Arjuna with his arrow. The whole area was a forest at that time. When Draupadi was very thirsty, Arjuna made a pond with an arrow. It is believed that any kind of fever can be cured by drinking the water of the kund. A temple is in front of Mata Draupadi's pool. Here the wishes are fulfilled by offering yellow sweets and flowers. Panch Pandav Temple is the fourth stop of Kashi Panchkoshi Parikrama. It is in Shivpur, Varanasi. The temple is divided into two parts by a passing highway. At one end there is Draupadi well and a temple, at the other end there are 6 temples dedicated to 5 Pandavas and Draupadi. There one temple is dedicated to Shri Krishna and the other is dedicated to Mata Kunti.
