There are 8 temples associated with Ashta Bhairava, and five Bhairavas represent the elements while the other three represent the Sun, the Moon and the soul. Each of the eight Bhairavas has different forms, vehicles and weapons, and bestows different types of wealth on their devotees known as Ashta Lakshmi. Regular prayer to Bhairav can lead a devotee to become a Mahaguru. Each of the eight Bhairavas has its own unique mantras and meditation verses.
