Based on a story described in the Kashi Khand, the Ark Vinayak form of Lord Ganesha established in Kashi has been included in the Ashta Vinayak Yatra which is located at the confluence of the Ganga and the Asi river. According to beliefs, worshiping Arka Vinayak can bring prosperity, auspicious results and peace to the devotee. It is also believed that worshiping Arka Vinayak removes all obstacles from the devotees and protects them from all kinds of troubles. The worship of Arka Vinayak has special significance on the occasion of Guru Purnima.
