Lolarkund is related to the Sun. It is one of the two oldest pilgrimages of Kashi (Varanasi) mentioned in the Mahabharata. According to Skandpuran, the water of Asi and the fire power of Suryadev Lolark together can destroy any sin. Lolark Kund has got the highest place among all the pilgrimages of Kashi (Kashi Khand 64-59). Even today, during the rainy season, the water of the Ganga enters this kund through a tunnel. Marg Shirsh Shukla Paksha Shashti/Saptami, which falls on Sunday, has special importance of bath, darshan and worship on that day. A huge annual fair is held here on Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha Shashti. In which most of the women take ritualistic bath here to get a son.
