Shultankeshwar Mahadev takes away all the colic of the devotees. It is believed that the way the colic of Mother Ganga is destroyed, in the same way all the sorrows of those who visit Shooltankeshwar go away. She enters Kashi through Uttaravahini. Shultankeshwar Mahadev resides in Madhavpur village, 15 kilometers away from Varanasi city. Nandi is seated in this temple along with Hanuman ji, Maa Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Kartikeya. The priest of the temple told that Madhav Rishi had established Shivling here for the worship of Shiva before the descent of Ganga.
