One of the most famous, sacred and oldest ghats of Varanasi, Manikarnika is primarily a cremation ground and one of the most auspicious places where dead bodies can be cremated. Here the dead bodies are brought to the Ghat on bamboo stretchers covered in red cloth, after which the cremation is done by the Dome.
