In ancient times, when Brahma ji came to Kashi to find faults in the kingdom of Kashi's King Divodas on the behest of Shiv ji, he disguised himself as an old Brahmin and stayed at this place till Shiva ji arrived in Kashi. On the demand of Brahma ji, King Divodas also built a Brahmashala next to this place, in which the king performed ten Ashwamedh Yagya, later the place became famous as Dashashwamedh and later a ghat was built.
