Jyotirlinga is east of Bombay and also north of Pune, on the banks of the river Sahay Parvat, its place of origin. Based on a story from Shivpuran, Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga is situated on Brahmapur hill near Guwahati in Kamrup district of Assam. Bhimashankar Jyotirling located in Varanasi is the symbol of this. According to Kashikhand, Bhimeshwar is in the Kashi Karwat temple located in Varanasi.
