About
A faithful devotee named Harit started migrating near the old Vishalakshi Devi temple and got engrossed in the intense worship of Lord Surya. After a long time Lord Surya appeared in front of him and said that O old man, I am pleased with your penance and you ask me for a boon. The old man said, it takes a lot of strength and power to do penance. There is nothing in this world greater than penance, penance leads to prosperity, divine light, knowledge and all-bliss. It is necessary for any devotee to be young and manly to do penance. Keeping this in mind, the old man requested God to make him young. Considering his spirit, the Lord blessed him with eternal youth, thus turning him from old to young again. Since Lord Surya was worshiped at that place by an old man. That's why the Aditya statue available there was named Vridhaditya. If a devotee worships Vriddhaditya (Sun) daily, he will always remain energetic like a youth.
